LEAKHENA TEN

Leakhena has been with LightBridge International for well over a decade, after “randomly” meeting Karla in a Cambodian market, and instantly stepped in to be Karla’s translator as she attempted to buy vegetables (thanks, God!), and she’s been just as insanely helpful, hardworking, and a gift ever since! She disciples and cares for the 21 women that work with the LandMine Design program. Leakhena works closely with the LandMine Design US leadership, on the many details it takes to go from design to production. This includes organizing, bagging all of the supplies, and ensuring that each piece of jewelry is made with high quality standards. Leakhena leads worship and Bible study with the LandMine Design women weekly in the village. In 2013, Leakhena and her husband planted a church, New Life in Poi Pet, where there are currently 250 members. She is also the head of New Life School in Poipet with approximately 500 students, Kindergarten-Second grade, and evening English classes. Leakhena finds great joy working with the women in LandMine Design, the teachers at New Life, and the young leaders at New Life Church.
